“The Frontier of Love” By Mel and The Tall Boys: AVailable Everywhere March 14
Mel and the Tall Boys’ first full length album, “The Frontier of Love”, will be available everywhere to stream and on Vinyl/CD March 14, 2026.
Frontier Of Love harnesses the energy and breadth of Mel and The Tall Boys’ NYC gigs into a potent package of love songs that run the gamut of experience. Lead single “Baby Blues” is a splash – a bit of B52s, a hint of surf rock – that captures the feeling of wanting to ignore all the red flags. “Runnin' Around” puts the band’s Chuck Berry and Wanda Jackson influences front and center, as Mel promises to track down a wandering lover.
Mel and The Tall Boys aren’t afraid to turn up the drama with Wall Of Sound-inspired ballads “The Breeze” and “Frontier Of Love.” The album’s title track brings theatrics and spaghetti western vibes to a mythologized tale of self; where romantic love meets love for one’s art. “We mythologized ourselves and created this hero’s journey about our experiences as artists,” Mel says. “You are literally forgoing stability because you’re traveling; you’re forgoing financial stability and the markers of adulthood; you might forgo love and relationships to walk a lonely path. But it’ the only thing that you could ever do.”

May 1, 2025 : Mel and the Tall boys- Baby Blues available everywhere now
Mel and the Tall Boys’ latest single, “Baby Blues” is now available to stream everywhere! Taking cues from Wanda Jackson, Bonnie Raitt and the great surf rock bands of the 60’s, the single is a swashbuckling rock’n’roll stomper that will be featured on the forthcoming full-length album “Frontier of Love”.
“Mel and the Tall Boys crank up the surf-punk swagger with their single Baby Blues. Fueled by gritty guitars, cowbell clatter, and a driving beat, the track channels old-school rock energy without sounding stuck in the past. Mel Johnston’s bold vocals cut through the retro haze with confidence and soul, anchoring the track with personality and power. It’s raw, fun, and totally unpretentious - just the kind of song that demands to be played loud.
Baby Blues is a standout taste of the band’s upcoming album Frontier of Love, and it hits all the right nerves.”

Cosmonauta Radio has shared “Cryin and Shakin’” as a blog/review!
What they say:
“The guitar, piano and bass play the most important role and the rhythm is so cool that it reminds us that rockabilly has never gone away. We recognize that Kyle does not limit himself to imitating the rules of the genre, he lives them and transmits them with the same passion that made it eternal. And with this song, he makes it clear to us that the rebellious spirit of the genre is more alive than ever!”
Rockola Indie has shared “Cryin’ and Shakin” AND “Give Back My Name” with great reviews!
What they say about “Give Back My Name”:
“The complexity of its sound is brilliant and completely resonant [...] Ethereal in every sense of this musical production, and at the same time in the essence of its sound, it is highlighted by a classic voice, as if it were a version of Elvis Presley, much more irreverent and spontaneous.”

Sweet Talker - Released March 23, 2024
Lacy Records is proud to present Ifedayo’s first solo single “Sweet Talker". Produced by Kyle Lacy and Ahmed Gallab, the song was recorded with members of both the Sinkane and the Harlem Gospel Travelers backing bands. The song was recorded in a marathon session at Brooklyn’s own Studio G, with Joel Hamilton engineering, mixed by Richard Salino, and Mastered by Dan Millice.
“Sweet Talker is about knowing your worth and not accepting less. Inspired by the high energy and powerhouse vocals of Tina Turner and James Brown, and the euphoric dance music of Donna Summers, Vivian Green and Loleatta Holloway. It was important to me to bring powerhouse vocals back to the dance floor.”
